1991: Six days after unveiling a new logo and helmet the San Francisco 49ers reverse course and keep their traditional logo. The 49ers had released the new look featuring a modern stylized script saying 49ers in white on red drop shadow on February 13th. However, fans immediately flooded the team with complaints over the new look. Reaction was so overwhelmingly negative that the 49ers decided to stick with the traditional logo which is still basically the same.
