1998: Team USA wins the first Gold Medal in Women's Hockey beating Canada 3-1 in the finale at the Nagano Olympics. After a scoreless first period Gretchen Ulion scores a power play goal 2:38 into the second period. Shelly Looney added a power play goal in the third period, while Canada got on the board with a Danielle Goyette power play goal. Leading 2-1 the US Women would round out the scoring on a Sandra Whyte-Sweeney empty netter.
