I do I mainly concentrate on the four leagues and with the NBA on the All Star Break the last three days I can only draw from the NHL. I dont do college basketball until the conference tournaments unless I see some real mind blowing stats.

On This Date in Sports www.sportsecyclopedia.com/2001: On the final lap of the Daytona 500, Dale Earnhart driving his famous black Monte Carlo adorned with the number 3 is in third place with his son Dale Jr. in second and his driver Michael Waltrip in the lead. Holding off the field, Earnhardt makes contact with Sterling Marlin in crashes hard into the wall in turn four. Waltrip and Dale Jr. finish first and second, but the celebration is short lived as the crash kills Dale Earnhardt one of NASCAR's greatest drivers.

It may say winter, but today is the day that teams start reporting for Spring Training pitchers and catchers.
At least that is some good news for a Hump Day

On This Date in Sports www.sportsecyclopedia.com/1998: Team USA wins the first Gold Medal in Women's Hockey beating Canada 3-1 in the finale at the Nagano Olympics. After a scoreless first period Gretchen Ulion scores a power play goal 2:38 into the second period. Shelly Looney added a power play goal in the third period, while Canada got on the board with a Danielle Goyette power play goal. Leading 2-1 the US Women would round out the scoring on a Sandra Whyte-Sweeney empty netter.
