With the game running deep into the night with neither team able to score the Red Wings finally get a 1-0 win 16:30 into the sixth overtime. Norm Smith of Detroit stop 90 shots, while the Maroons Lorne Chabot stopped 66 before he was beat by Mud Bruneteau.
