www.sportsecyclopedia.com 1-2 Combination The madness took a back seat on Thursday as the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament resumed with the Sweet 16 round in the South and West Regionals. In the first weekend of the tournament these regions lacked some of the big surprises as form held out. That trend continued in the regional semifinals as the two top seeds each advanced to the Elite Eight with double digit wins. The big story was the West Regionals in Anaheim where defending champion #4 seed Duke was eliminated by top seed Oregon 82-68. They will next face #2 seed Oklahoma who waltzed past #3 Texas A&M 77-63. In the South Regionals in Louisville things were exactly the same as #1 Kansas led by Perry Ellis slammed #5 Maryland 79-63. The Jayhawks will take on #2 Villanova on Saturday for a trip to the Final Four. The Wildcats had no problem beating #3 Miami 92-69 in a day of blowouts. The East and Midwest Regionals tip off on Friday.
