On This Date in Sports www.sportsecyclopedia.com/1996: Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf of the Denver Nuggets is suspended without pay by the NBA for refusing to stand during the national anthem before games. Abdul-Rauf a recent covert formerly known as Chris Jackson called the flag a "symbol of tyranny and oppression". A compromise would later be reached with Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf praying during the anthem, but his image would be tarnished as he is dealt at end of the season.

Good to see that Denver shit canned him after the season. Who needs him. Hopefully he didn't last much longer in the NBA. If this were to happen today he would be hailed as a hero and the Nuggets would be branded a racist organization. If the US is so bad why didn't he play in a lower lever European league? Because he is a hippocrate that's why. He takes the big money from the NBA and enjoys the freedom and life style of the US at the same time he criticizes this country. The sad thing is that these days all the liberal moon bats would be on his side. Move to Canada or Mexico, they would love to have you. Oh wait, Canada is wicked cold and Mexico is a hell hole. Then shut the fuck up, work hard and give the government your money to support illegal aliens.
