www.sportsecyclopedia.com/Brock Out The Denver Broncos long term quarterback plans went up in smoke Wednesday when Brock Osweiler agreed to four-year deal is worth $72 million with the Houston Texans. Osweiler had long been considered the replacement for Peyton Manning who retired on Monday. Osweiler a second round pick in the 2012 draft got his first chance to start this year when Manning was sidelined with a foot injury. In many ways the Broncos kept their Super Bowl hope alive thanks to Brock Osweiler as they posted a 5-2 record over their last seven games to earn home field in the AFC. Osweiler played passing for 1,967 yards with ten touchdowns and six interceptions. However, in the season's final game Brock Osweiler was benched as Peyton Manning returned and led Denver to the Lombardi Trophy. The benching remained a sore spot with Brock Osweiler in his decision to leave Denver.
