www.sportsecyclopedia.com/Battle Los Angeles First place in the Pacific Division was on the line Saturday Night as the Los Angeles Kings hosted the Anaheim Ducks at Staple Center. The Ducks came in with a ten game winning streak, having completely recovered from a slow start. The Kings who coming off a disappointing season last year had been on top of the division all season. With so much on the line emotions spilled into an old fashioned line fight with the two teams combining for 80 penalty minutes. After a scoreless first period, the Ducks got on the board first with a goal by Ryan Kessler. After Milan Lucic answered for LA, David Perron again put the Ducks in front. In the third period Jakob Silfverberg gave the Ducks a 3-2 lead, with Drew Doughty answering a minute later. Frederik Andersen would not let the Kings get any closer, as the Ducks took over first place with a 3-2 win, improving to 37-19-8 on the season.
