1976: Gilles Gilbert of the Boston Bruins helps lead his team to a 5-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks at the Boston Gardens. The win is the 17th straight for Gilbert setting a new NHL record for consecutive wins for a goalie. The previous record was held by Tiny Thompson who played for Boston for decades earlier. Gilles Gilbert would go on to finish the season with a record of 33-8-10 the win% in NHL history.
