1996: John Stockton of the Utah Jazz becomes the NBA's ultimate theft, breaking Maurice Cheek's All-Time record for steals. During a 112-98 win over the Boston Celtics, Stockton swipes his 2,311 steal breaking the previous record held by Maurice Cheeks. Stockton, who would also become the NBA's All-Time assist leader would play another seven seasons all with the Jazz, finishing his career with 3,265 steals more than 600 more than second place on the career list.
