www.sportsecyclopedia.com Spurs Fall Apart After a 67-win season that in most years would be the talk of the NBA, everyone was anticipating a showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and the 73-win Golden State Warriors. After a waltz past the Memphis Grizzlies in four a tougher second round foe looked to be heading for the same fate after the Spurs cruised in the opener 116-95. However, the Thunder won Game 2 at AT&T Center where the Spurs lost just once all year in a game with the strangest ending ever. After splitting two games in OCK, the Thunder again stunned the Spurs at home. Needing to win Game 6 on the road, it all began to unravel for the Spurs when an angry Gregg Popovich called on his bench, ripping his team between quarters did not help as the Thunder outscored San Antonio 30-12 to take 55-31 halftime lead. Trailing by as many as 28 the Spurs made a furious run in the fourth, but it was not enough as Thunder rolled to a 113-99 victory.
