www.sportsecyclopedia.com Dominance in Wrigleyville The Chicago Cubs who have not been to a World Series in 71 years and have not won a World Series since 1908 began the season as the Las Vegas favorites to end their suffering and through the first month of the season they have not disappointed. On Sunday the Cubs completed a four game sweep of the Washington Nationals who came into the weekend with the second best record in the National League. After rallying to tie the game with two runs in the seventh inning, the Cubs capped the sweep in dramatic fashion as Javier Baez hit a walk off home run against Blake Treinen in the 13th inning to win the game 4-3. With the win the Cubs continued the best start in franchise history at 24-6. The win was also the seventh straight for the Cubs, as they are the first team since the 1984 Detroit Tigers to get off to such a blazing start. The Cubs are not alone as the White Sox are also off to a great start at 22-10.
