Entering the series, the Raptors holding the second seed were heavily favored, but with Paul George leading the way the Pacers had played them evenly. George came out firing in Game 5, scoring 39 points, with eight rebounds and eight assists as the Pacers took 35-20 lead in the first quarter. The Raptors tried chipping away, but the Pacers remained in firm control entering the fourth quarter with a 13-point lead. In the fourth quarter the game would change as the Raptors outscored the Pacers 25-9 to win the game 102-99. DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry led the way in the comeback, with Lowry scoring 14 points in the final quarter, as DeRozan led the team with 34 points. The Pacers appeared to tie the game, Solomon Hill's 3-pointer was ruled after the buzzer.
