www.sportsecyclopedia.com/Jake the Great Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta dominant second half from last year has carried over into the early part of the 2016 season, as he tossed his second No Hitter in 11 starts Thursday Night at Great American Ballpark. Arrieta allowed just four walks, while striking out six as the Cubs crushed the Cincinnati Reds 16-0. The 16-0 score is the most lob sided No Hitter in 132 years when Pud Galvin and the Buffalo Bisons blanked the Detroit Wolverines 18-0 in 1884. Jake Arrieta who also hand cuffed the Los Angeles Dodgers with a No Hitter on August 30th, has 15-0 record with an 0.65 ERA in his last 17 regular season starts. So far in 2016 Arrieta the reigning winner of the Cy Young is 4-0 with an ERA of 0.87. The Cubs, who entered the season as the Las Vegas favorites to win the World Series are living up to those expectations thanks in part to Arrieta as they hold the best record in MLB at 12-4.
