www.sportsecyclopedia.com Blackhawks Down The defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks are on the brink of elimination after losing a second straight game at the United Center to the St. Louis Blues 4-3. After a big 3-2 win in Game 3, the Blues scored first in Game 4 Tuesday Night on a goal by Vladimir Tarasenko. The Blackhawks would strike back in the second period, scoring twice to take a 2-1 lead. However, Tarasenko scored again to even the score. St. Louis would take over the game in the third period, taking the lead on a power play goal by Jaden Schwartz. The Blues would extend the lead to 4-2 on an assisted tally by Alexander Steen, off a giveaway. The Blackhawks would answer a goal by Duncan Keith, but it was not enough as the Blackhawks took a coast penalty late, preventing them from getting the late push to tie the game. The Blues will look to exercise their recent playoff demons in Game 5 Thursday at home.
