www.sportsecyclopedia.comOff and Running The Golden State Warriors have completed the greatest regular season in NBA history, posting a record of 73-9. However, now the real test begins as they seek to win a second consecutive NBA Championship. Facing the Houston Rockets whom they beat the in the Western Conference Finals last season, the Warriors showed early dominance in their playoff opener taking a 33-15 lead after the first quarter. The Warriors would expand the lead to 50-33 at the half and cruised the rest of the way winning 104-78 at Oracle Arena. Stephen Curry was strong early, scoring 24 points. However, late in the second quarter the Warriors MVP rolled his ankle and only saw limited action in the second half. Following the game Warriors Coach Steve Kerr described, Stephen Curry's status for Game 2 on Monday Night as questionable. Curry was more optimistic saying, "Right now I don't see a scenario I would be out."
