www.sportsecyclopedia.com Seventies Groove The Golden State Warriors became the second team in NBA history to win 70 games in a season, beating the San Antonio Spurs 112-101 at Oracle Arena. The win enabled the Warriors to secure home court throughout the playoffs, as the Spurs themselves had a shot at 70 wins, entering the game with a record of 65-12. The win was a big bounce back for the Warriors who suffered their most embarrassing loss of the season Tuesday, blowing a 17-point lead at home to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite that loss the Warriors still have a chance to equal or better the 1995/96 Chicago Bulls record of 72-10. With three game left the Warriors sit at 70-9, with two games against the Memphis Grizzlies and another game against the Spurs in San Antonio on Sunday Night. Leading the way in Thursday's win over the Spurs was Stephen Curry who scored 27 points, with five rebounds and nine assists.
