At 34-0 the Rebels were in the Final Four facing Duke in the semifinals in Indianapolis. The Blue Devils avenging a 103-73 loss in the title game 12 months earlier come out and stun UNLV winning 79-77. Duke would go on to win their first ever basketball National Championship two days later by beating Kansas 72-65.
