www.sportsecyclopedia.com Stayin' Alive Win the Pittsburgh Penguins just 60 minutes from winning the Stanley Cup, the San Jose Sharks came out desperate in Game 5 at the CONSOL Energy Center. With goals by Brent Burns and Logan Couture the Sharks had a 2-0 just 2:53 into the game. The Penguins would answer back just as quickly as Evgeni Malkin and Carl Hagelin scored 22 seconds apart to tie the game just over two minutes later. After four goals in the first five minutes the game settled down, with the Sharks retaking the lead on a goal by Melker Karlsson late in the first period. The Penguins continued to attack looking for the equalizer, but Martin Jones who looked shaky with the two early goals stood strong the rest of the way making 44 saves to keep the Sharks in front. Joe Pavelski would seal the win with an empty net goal. With a 4-2 win the Sharks get another home game in Game 6 on Sunday, but still trail the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final 3-2.
