www.sportsecyclopedia.com 1999: The New York Knicks become the first eight seed to reach the NBA Finals as they beat the Indiana Pacers 90-82 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals at home. The Knicks had barely made the playoffs with a 26-24 record in a season cut to 50 games by a lockout. After upsetting the Miami Heat, the Knicks swept the Atlanta Hawks to advance to the Conference Finals. The Knicks Cinderella run would end as with a loss to the San Antonio Spurs in five games.
