www.sportsecyclopedia.com Old Time Hockey Dirty hits, injuries and bruised ego were the theme in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals as the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ryan Callahan created a controversial moment early in the game when he received a five-minute major for boarding on Kris Letang. Though needing to be helped off the ice Letang returned, as the Penguins were upset that Callahan was not ejected. The Penguins were unable to score during the power play as Ben Bishop made several big saves, but soon Bishop himself was carried off the ice with an apparent leg injury. Andrei Vasilevskiy came on in relief and kept Tampa in the game as their offense rallied scoring the first goal of the game with Alex Killorn beating Matt Murray late in the first. Tampa would add goals from Ondrej Palat and Jonathan Drouin as the Penguins did not score until late in the second when Patric Hornqvist scored but that would be it as Tampa won the opener 3-1
